Sorry, but in my humble opinion it looks like a Llama. I, more than anyone, would like to prove the existence of precolumbian horses. I understand that a group, calling itself the Spanish Mustang Registry, once found some animals about 150 miles west of Acapulco Mexico, in an area called The Devils Frying Pan, that carried a MtDNA that was said to be "unaccounted for in European horses". One of these horses was named "Mexicali Rose"(if memory serves me correctly). She was a very small, strange, zebra dun striped, tarpan looking creature. A man from Germany is now supposed to be in possession of some of her descendants. This is all I know. Could someone, please, do some more research on this?

I believe the area where the horses (referred to in the previous post) were found was in the Mexican state of Colima. Also, there is said to be pre-Columbian native art in Cofins Cave, Brazil, and at Trujillo, Peru, that depict horses being ridden. Please, is there a younger person out there who would like to continue this investigation?
... It could be a very small pony with a "bobbed" tail, "roached" mane, and hooves badly split into two parts(or, the extra hoof parts could be a trick of shadows on the bas-relief). In Lake Superior Provincial Park hear Agawa, Canada, there are pictographs on the rock wall above the lake that show horses. The pictographs have been dated back to centuries before any horses were supposed to be in North America.
